23 JUNE 2007 -- BSA BANTAM D1
Hello Rex and Debra,
As you are aware I was so delighted with the Bantam Electronic ignition system you supplied me with that I ordered a
second unit to fit to my 1950 D1 Bantam. And here by hangs a tale.
I fitted the system and wired in a stop light to comply with the law. This bike I have owned since 1955 and it has sat
in my garage unused since 1969. I fitted the fuel tank back on after fitting the coil and CDI unit under the tank and
in doing so must have knocked the fuel tap on. I was kicking the bike over to test its compression, and ciculate the oil
in the gearbox. I had not even changed or regaped the sparking plug. Guess what? to my amazement it fired and started
and kept running even on the stale petrol that was left in the tank all those years ago. It was definitely not my
intension to even try to start it. I was unprepared.
The fuel/oil mixture was so oily where the petrol had evaporated off that oil was dripping from under the silencer but
it kept running filling my garage with smoke. AMAZING !
I am yet to replenish the petrol and road test the bike but the lights and stop light are working fine.
This speaks very highly of the performance of your electronic system.
Many Thanks
Colin

7 SEPTEMBER 2006 -- SUZUKI T20
Hello Rex and Debra,
I'm really satisfied with Rex's System. It was really easy to mount. It's utmost carefree to use and no worrying
over battery loadings, etc. And the advance and retard goes right away!

24 AUGUST 2006 -- BSA B40 MX
Rex and Debra
Just thought I would drop you a quick line to let you know how the racing (Pre 65 scrambles) is going now I've fitted the ignition.
Well I have to say it has made a vast improvement over what I had fitted before. I used to be about 8th 10th into the first bend at most of our club meets but at the last meet (with a new back tyre fitted) I was getting third into the first bend (just one other BSA and a pesky CZ). Mind you I did drop back a bit from there but the bike certainly pulls a lot cleaner out of the bends with a nice smooth pick up and no hesitation.
It did however generate quite a few comments from some of the other guys as to what I had done to suddenly be so quick off the mark!!!
Thanks,
Richard Bauckham

7 AUGUST 2006 -- BSA BANTAM D7 (with Lighting)
Dear Rex and Debra,
Just a few lines to let you know that I installed the new electronic system to day. The bike started second kick
and the lighting is excellent. Revs well and ticks over like a clock. I am well pleased, Thank You. Could not go out
on the road with it No MOT, tax or insurance got to get it registered and stripped and painted yet.
Cheers

10 JUNE 2006 -- MV AGUSTA Road Bike
Hi Rex and Debra,
Got a few miles on the MV and so far the ignition seems to be faultless! Starting is getting easier as I learn the
technique! One kick after priming hot or cold.
The idle is smooth and consistant even at very low rpm, throttle response and pick up is crisp and quick.
On the road at higher revs, again pick up is crisp and steady throttle is smooth with no signs of any ignition problems at all!
Perfect so far! Thanks again.
Best Regards

30 MARCH 2006 -- BSA BANTAM D3
Hi Rex,
Attached are some pictures of my Bantam as promised, I even cleaned it for the occasion! I've owned it for almost 20 years now and use it quite frequently. At the moment the engine is a totally standard D3, I'll put the Todd head on it when I'm next home, and then will try your carb modification and some mild porting.
It certainly starts much better with your ignition fitted, I've not run down the road pushing it once yet, and that was quite common before. It also pulls better at low revs which means that I can get up most hills on the road in 3rd which I couldn't do previously. Your ignition has replaced a new green coil and Atom ignition which I ran with for several years and I remember that was quite an improvement over the points.
Thanks for sorting everything out with my father so that I could fit it and get it going during my short spell at home, hopefully next time I'm back it will be for longer so I will have more time to experiment with it.
Ta,
Dan Barratt

23 JANUARY 2006 -- BSA BANTAM D3
Many thanks 4 the new ignition system 4my d3 bantam. You've obviously put a lot of thought into the design as it was so
simple to install and after owning this bike for 18 years I was amazed at the difference in performance and reliability of
the bike. No spluttering, hesitancy, horrible preignition noises and no engine running backwards syndrome! After half an
hour installing the kit and a quick spin round the garden, we were off to our first trial on the Bantam. Completed 2 laps
before unfortunately getting a puncture, but got a few clear sections and felt as if the last thing I had to think about
was ignition problems. She just pop popped up and down vale beautifully. no hint of slip from your clutch springs either.
Many thanks,
Rupert Stockwin

27 NOVEMBER 2005 -- BANTAM D14 Trials
Dear Rex and Debra,
Sorry for delay in writing but I can now report that my Bantam is running perfectly and I am absolutely
delighted with it.
Considering the engine is completely standard apart from the ignition it is amazing how good it is for trials
and the most important thing is it’s very consistent.
Yours sincerely,
Stephen Thomas |

25 MAY 2004 -- TRIUMPH Twin Motocross
Hi Rex,
The ignition is great. Now the bad part from the weekend, out of my 4 races I only finished 2. The problem was a blocked petrol cap. Plus my gearing was way out (too low and already starting in 2nd), so I was not confident on the line and was last off every time. There was about 20 riders in each race and I managed to get a 7th and 9th, which was not too bad considering.
This was against a lot of 650's, I think I was 1st of 2 500s home. So you could say that the bike is working well and the ignition finished off the tuning process.
Many Thanks for a great ignition,
James Smith |

MARCH 2004 -- HONDA K4350 Roadrace
Rex,
Out at Aintree today – miserable weather to start. Also, with bad carb adjustment I pulled in early. Second session... wow! What a stormer! OK I still have some cobwebs to blow off after three years out of the saddle, but the K4 now pulls cleanly and like a train with your ignition! I had a 500 Manx Norton down the back straight and clean as a whistle in the slow corners too. Fantastic – I'm over the moon. Problem now I that I have to get some track time in and try to get faster.
Thanks for all your help – in the end it's been very easy to install and the results are superb. When I outgrow the K4, I'll be back to you for an ignition for the Black Bomber and then there's the project CR750 following.
Thanks again, best wishes,
Simon Tappin |

19 AUGUST 2003 -- BSA Motocross
Rex,
The ignition works great!!! Very simple to install and I'm quite impressed with the quality. You'll be getting a lot more requests from the U.S. because just about everyone I talked to at the races at the “Farm” in Chahalis, Washington State (which I took third in my class, thank you) wants one!
Thanks Again!

22 JULY 2003 -- BSA C15
My name is Simon Burt from Basildon Essex.
I bought one of your ignition systems for my C15 motocross, I rode the bike at Marks Tey at a pre65 MX meeting and would just like to say THANK YOU. It has transformed the bike, mind you I'm still a professional back marker, but one that doesn't have to play about with points between virtually every race. I actually get to sit down and rest, or should I say fall down, as you properly know, this is very nice. I couldn't stop boasting about your ignition and I shall continue to pass the word. The bike didn't miss a beat, started first kick every time, even when extremely hot; and that was a first for me. I'm sure the bike palled better, and I'm no mechanical genius so the fool-proof fitment and simplicity of the ignition is great. I just timed it by ear and away it went. I am now a convert and I never want to see points, batteries, condensers, capaciters, bobweights or any of the like ever again.
Once again, thanks,
Simon Burt
PS Thanks for putting a second keyway in the rotor for me. : ) |

22 MAY 2003 -- BSA B50
Hi Rex…..I had a vintage MX race this past weekend and my B50 ran perfectly. Not one hiccup from the ignition. I raced 2 different classes and finished first overall in one and second overall in the other.
Cheers,

1 DECEMBER 2002 -- BSA C15
Well Rex, thought you may like to know that my C15 is running superbly.
Starts really easily now too. I feel a lot more confident knowing it will
keep on sparking. Ive had quite a few rides on it now with the electronic
and have amazed myself in quite a few sections. Told Brian Neale that his
suggestion to contact yourself was a brilliant idea. He was quite chuffed.
Keep up the good work, I can't praise "CAUNT" enough !!!!!!
Regards,
Joan Westbrook
